Protein bread

If you're following a Paleo, Keto or gluten free diet, then this recipe is perfect for bread-lovers! Light, fluffy, packed full of protein, low carb and grain free this recipe is super easy to make and is one of our family favourites in the James household!




Prep time: 5 minutes

Cook time: One hour

Ingredients

2 cup of almond flour

5 tablespoons of psyllium husk

2 teaspoons of baking powder

2 teaspoon of Himalayan salt

2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar

1 cup of boiling water

4 egg whites

Sesame, sunflower, poppy and pumpkin seeds for topping

Crushed walnuts for topping


Method

Preheat oven to 175 degrees. Mix dry ingredients in a bowl, add apple cider vinegar boiling water and egg whites and beat with a mixer on medium until you have a play dough like consistency (will be a little more wet than traditional dough). Add the dough to a bread tin. Top with seeds and crushed nuts and cook for an hour or until the outside is crisp and the bottom of the bread sounds hollow when you tap it.
